Dr. Goodman graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.A.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Georgia, and obtained his Medical Degree (M.D.) from Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Goodman is now a Miami-based Psychiatry Resident Physician and a global mental health activist with more than 2.1 million followers on his social media platforms.
As a resident doctor, Dr. Goodman had the opportunity to participate in the Healthcare Leaders in Social Media Round Table Series for the White House, where he was involved in creating content for the roll out of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. When he was a first year resident, Dr. Goodman authored a viral Op-Ed for the Psychiatric Times entitled, “I Revealed That I Take Medication for My Mental Health to Millions Online. Here’s What Happened.” As a second year resident, he spoke at the American Psychiatric Association’s Annual Meeting, discussing the importance of Psychiatrists educating the public about mental health on social media. Throughout his medical training, Dr. Goodman has received multiple honors and awards, including being inducted into the University of Georgia Alumni Association's 40 under 40 and being selected by Men’s Health Magazine as a 2023 Men’s Health Approved Influencer.
Dr. Goodman uses his voice to fight mental health stigma discrimination, and to empower healthcare providers to seek help for their mental health. He advocates for systemic changes in medical training that improve medical student and resident wellness. He also creates educational videos to teach mental health concepts in an engaging manner to the masses. Today, Dr. Goodman is one of the most influential physicians on social media, and a leading voice of change for mental health and medical education.
