This Privacy Policy explains how Goodman Psychiatry, PC and Goodman Psychiatry, PLLC, each doing business as Goodman Psychiatry (collectively, “Goodman Psychiatry,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit www.jakegoodmanmd.com (the “Website”) or communicate with us through Website features.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Website. It does not replace any Notice of Privacy Practices that may apply to protected health information maintained by Goodman Psychiatry in connection with clinical care.

Please do not submit sensitive information through general Website forms.
The Website contact form, consultation-request form, newsletter form, and social-media features are not intended for urgent messages, medication requests, detailed medical histories, or other sensitive health information. Use the patient portal or another method specifically designated by Goodman Psychiatry for clinical communications. Submission of a Website form does not create a physician-patient relationship.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Website, we and service providers that support the Website may automatically collect limited technical and usage information, such as your Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, operating system, referring or exit pages, pages viewed, approximate location derived from an IP address, dates and times of access, and interactions with Website features.

Google Ads conversion tracking, Meta Pixel, and other advertising or remarketing technologies are not represented as active as of the effective date. If these technologies are added, this Privacy Policy and the Website's consent or preference tools should be updated before or when they are activated. Such tools may collect or receive identifiers and browsing or interaction data for measurement, attribution, or advertising purposes.

Embedded social media and video

The Website will display an embedded Instagram feed and may include embedded YouTube videos or other third-party content. When you view or interact with embedded content, the third-party provider may collect information about your device, browser, IP address, and interaction with the content, and may use cookies or similar technologies. This may occur even if you do not actively click the content and may be linked to your account if you are logged in to that third-party service. Those providers' privacy practices govern their processing.

7. HIPAA and Clinical Information

Some information created or received by Goodman Psychiatry in its capacity as a health care provider may be protected by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) or other health-privacy laws. When applicable, that information is governed by the Practice's Notice of Privacy Practices and other clinical privacy procedures, not solely by this Website Privacy Policy.

A general Website form or ordinary email should not be assumed to be a secure channel for protected health information. If you are an established patient, use the communication method the Practice has designated for clinical matters.

The Website may link to or integrate services operated by others, such as Google Forms, Instagram, YouTube, scheduling tools, social networks, or external resources. We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content of third-party services. Review their policies before providing information or using their services.

9. Children's Privacy

The Website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Website. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the Website, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, delete it. A parent or guardian seeking services for a minor should contact the Practice directly and avoid submitting sensitive clinical details through a general Website form.

10. Your Privacy Choices and Requests

Depending on where you live and the laws applicable to Goodman Psychiatry, you may have rights concerning certain personal information, such as requesting access, correction, or deletion, or withdrawing consent. These rights may be subject to exceptions and identity verification. To make a request, email dr@goodmanpsychiatry.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will review and respond as required by applicable law.

We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals in a uniform way because there is no universally adopted standard. Where legally required, we will honor applicable browser-based opt-out preference signals for covered processing.

The Website is operated from the United States. If you access it from another country, information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location. The Website is intended to provide information about services offered where Goodman Psychiatry and its clinicians are authorized to practice.
